We had a great 4th of July holiday. The Husband and I left for the lake on Thursday night and relaxed before company began arriving on Saturday morning. It was a blur of eating, playing, boating and tubing. We had rides on the paddle boat and wave runners and a little floating on the chair rafts. Bon fires and fireworks. The kids played on the beach and with each other. So I'm just going to zip through these pictures to give you a glimpse and then move on. Above is my niece Grace playing on our beach.

And surprise...a holiday cake that became a birthday cake for this guy...
The Husband, who doesn't seem to have a care in the world!It was a great holiday and we were exhausted when we got home last night. I have done pretty much nothing today except clean and take a shower. Having fun can be very tiring. I hope everyone had a great holiday and that they are enjoying summer now that it is in full swing. We have a couple of small trips to make but other than that, I am going to catch up on my beach reads, soak up the sun and enjoy the warm summer breezes. I'm also joining Susan today at A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. Catch up with all the girls who are playing along and pay them a visit! And thanks for coming by! :-)

You are so right though, having fun is exhausting! We just got back from our vacation Friday and I have had absolutely no energy since we got back. I forced myself to get up and out early today and now I'm pooped! It's also really hot here and the heat sure can take it's toll.

I totally agree, having fun can wear you out! So glad you all had a wonderful 4th. It was a quiet one around here but still a nice time. My hubby was feeling sick but is feeling much better now.

Sounds like a great time. Very similar to the weekend here. Add 4 little gkids to the mix! The 2 y o was tubing in the bay!
Having company is exhausting. All the preps before, cooking, and then the clean up! But summer goes quickly!
Oh my gosh! What a beautiful lake house party! I love get together's like that! Great post... Fun photos... You can see the relaxation on your Husbands face! I hope I see that look on my Hubby's face next week as we spend a week on Lake Powell with our Ski boat... Just him and I and another couple meeting us there from Colorado with their boat. Hubby needs a vacation! Off the Grid!

Blondie...here it is the 9th of July and you are not back yet! The 4th really tired you out, I think! :) What a wonderful 4th of July you all had! Much more going on then here. We really did NOTHING! Listened to the fireworks but didn't see them. Next year will be different...next year... :)
