JUST HAVING SOME FUN!

I guess it's just a waiting game.  I did my shopping Friday and even ran out last night to pick up a few things I forgot.  I will probably duck out tomorrow with The Husband to get the wine and pick up some fresh flowers.  When I saw these at my grocery store last week I asked it they were fresh and I was assured they came in that morning.  I just felt that they looked a little shaggy so these can stay on the island and I think I may get something else for the yet undetermined centerpiece.  I can't set the table yet as I need it and to be honest, I love mixing and matching dishes and napkins and whatever...I don't want to rush it.  I can play with that tomorrow, so, no tablescape until my next post.  I want to take my time. :)

I don't know if any of you are familiar with Sonya of Beyond The Screen Door.  This girl can sew!  She made me a beautiful table runner last year that I prize.   I recently asked her to make me a tree skirt, the one I have has seen better days.  This arrived the other day.  I'll get a better picture when it's under my tree.  It's a pretty oatmeal colored linen with a cream colored ruffle.  There are cute ties where the skirt meets in a circle.  I also had to have this star shaped tray which she had in her shop.  I highly recommend that you visit her.  You can even email her if there is something special you want.

Have you been watching any of the Christmas movies?  I had my fill again on Sunday.  A lot of these are shown over and over.  If you missed Naughty Or Nice, you have to watch it.  It's hysterically funny!

Now I'm off to the Dollar Tree to find a plastic container to brine my turkey in.  I will be up bright and early to do that.  And I always make my potatoes and stuffing ahead of time as well as desserts.  So it will be a busy day.  And then Thursday the family will all be in one place, here, in our home.  Just the thought of that warms my heart.  That's what I give the most thanks for, I've been blessed with a family and so many great people in my life.  We are all in good health and life is good.  I will be thinking about this as I bustle around my kitchen on Thanksgiving, doing what I love the most for those I love even more!

Many blessings to all of you.  Happy Thanksgiving!

XO,
Jane

Hi Jane, Glad you are enjoying your iPhone! Cute and fun selfies! Your holiday will be awesome. It reminds me of the Thanksgivings of my childhood, when 6 aunts/uncles and their families all got together - such fun! Happy memories...and that is what you are making...enjoy and don't stress!

Jane, I love the selfies! You are so pretty!! Rusty is pretty darn cute too. :) I'm worried about Holly with the Christmas trees this year too. Last year, she made a habit of climbing them, but she was just a kitten. This year, she's ummm...a little bigger (wider) LOL! I love your tree skirt. I'll have to check out that blogger for sure. Our current tree skirt came from Kroger about 20 years ago! Definitely time for an upgrade. :) Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, my friend!!!!

I have been catching up on your posts. I don't understand how I miss them as I thought I followed you. Oh well, I'm thankful you were ok in the awful storm and now i know you are really cold. I'm listening to a Chicago radio station (one of the things I like about my iPhone.) Certainly you are loving it and will find lots to like about it. I look forward to seeing what comes of your closet. And have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Glad you are enjoying your new phone...I have an Android - the Samsung Galaxy 3 - and it does all the things you mentioned. What kind of Android did you have before? I need to get comfortable with using the calendar on my phone though...I find myself still drawn to my paper planner. Your grandpuppy is so cute! I love his big ears. I wanted to visit the blog you mentioned and I clicked on the link but it goes to a site called Thoughts from Johnny O. ?? Here's wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving together!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I have enjoyed reading your blog and I am trying to catch up with some of my friends. Family time is special for all of us. Your daughter's dog is like a cat we use to have. You never knew what was going to happen. I looked at a new phone, but haven't made up my mind as of yet. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

I hope you ended up having a wonderful Thanksgiving. Sounds like you were planning for a large group. My niece hosted us this year and brined her turkey too. We've never done that before, but it was very good! I didn't know what I was missing before getting an iPhone either. I love mine and now we'll probably be getting one for our youngest son for Christmas. Sounds like you're already using yours to the fullest!
