PINK SATURDAY: MY PORCELAIN ANGEL

Good morning! I am joining Beverly at How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday. It has been a long tome since I have done this! I am finally starting to get to my Christmas decorations and yesterday I pulled out one of my favorites, my porcelain angel. And she is a bit pink...

She is also a tea light holder and looks stunning at night. Unfortunately, I'm not too hot at taking night pictures so I couldn't get a good one for you!

In sharing a Christmas tradition, mine is very short and sweet. As children, on Christmas Eve, all seven of us would rush up to the corner where the church was, just a half block from our home. There we attended Midnight Mass, sometimes in our pajamas under our coats! On our way home, we ran, the excitement was too much. We hopped into bed and prayed for sleep so morning would come quickly. I am sure all of us dreamed of the presents that awaited us under the tree!

With this post I want to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas. May you have peace, joy and love and all things blessed.

Oh Blondie!
The porcelain pink angel is oh so sweet.
I think it may be from the same Christmas design as a little church I have...you can put a little tea candle in my church. What a cute story about you going to church in your pjs under your coats...classic!
XXOOOXX
I know your home must be filled with Christmas magic!

I do like her, your angel, she seems to be enveloping the scene before her...holding it securely, treasuring the moment...

Just as it appears we all do with family and friends.

I am delighted you are sounding well and are on track for a truly joyous Christmas!

What a sweet Christmas memory. :-)

And what a precious pink angel.

As to taking night pictures, just keep trying. No need for flash. I've read someone say... NEVER use flash, under any circumstances, and I agree.

Use of flash makes pictures look too white-ish and bright and flat-ish. If you need "light," turn on all your lights, or open a window to sunlight. But don't flash. :-)

For your angel, light those little tea candles at night and snap, snap, snap away. I'm sure you'll get some lovely photos.

I was just reading Catherine's blog, and she takes exquisite night photos, with candle light. So I thought I'd simply leave a click-able link here, and you can pop over there and see what I'm trying to tell you about. Seeing her lovely photos will say it, so much better than my trying to 'say' it.

Hugs from your 'Auntie'...

Merry Christmas, Jane.. love the vision of you seven in your PJ's at midnight mass, and remembering the excitement of those silent nights under the covers TRYING to sleep.. or hear sleigh bells..

She's a beauty, Janie! I love angels - I used to collect them. But then there are only so many places you can display an angel before it starts to look a little creepy! One day my mother came over and as soon as she walked in the door she said - 'ok, you have enough angels'. So that ended my collecting unless I see a really special one. And yours is really special!

Have a wonderful weekend and a blessed Christmas...Kathy

Hi Jane,
I can't believe it's been a week already! Last Saturday we were eating at Fried Green Tomatoes and having a good ole time! Your angel is so pretty and delicate, I love the soft pink colors! We used to go to Midnight Mass too and then go home and hardly stand the wait for Santa to show up. I used to get up 3 or 4 times a night hoping to catch a glimpse! My Mom and Dad would always shoo me back to bed until about 5:00 a.m. and then just give up! Missing you and wishin you and Alan and family a wonderful Christmas! Hugs, Cindy

I loved going to Midnight Mass. It always made me sleep so good afterwards. The church looks completely different from any other time of year...even night time weddings.
Your angel is so sparkly and sweet. Have a blessed Christmas, Jane - and thanks for sharing with us on your wonderful blog. xoxo Nancy

Your pink angel is so beautiful!

We always went to midnight Mass and still do --I love the music and the laying of baby Jesus in the manger in the Church's nativity set as everyone sang Silent Night. My parents would allow us to open a few presents after Mass before we went to bed ..they were the presents that they gave us. In the morning Santa's presents would be under the tree! I kept the same tradition for my children when they were growing up. It always seemed to make Christmas so special.

A very Merry Christmas!

A gorgeous angel. love the soft colors.

We used to go to Midnight Mass as a tradition as well. The candlelight was always so magical at midnight. Now that my dad is a Senior he wants to go to an earlier Mass. So we all go to the 4:00 Family Mass. Not quite the same but at least we're all together.

Have a wonderful holiday.
