A BATHROOM REDO ON A RAINY DAY

The heat has been insufferable but we have managed to keep busy.  If there is a nice breeze I can tolerate being outdoors.  Our flowers and plants are paying the price, but The Husband keeps using his home remedies and we haven't lost anything yet...just fewer blooms.  We had a nice thunderstorm with a lot of rain last night so that should help.

I am in the midst of planning a cocktail party with my neighbor, Barb.  We have a guest list with about 30 people, friends around the lake.  Pretty invitations were printed and we wrote out envelopes yesterday, so I have to go to the post office in town and get them mailed.  I ordered some fun party things from a website called Smarty Had A Party, disposable forks and serving spoons and tongs that look like real silver.  Napkins, plates that look like china...it's a really great website.

This weekend we have a big group of family and friends coming up, time to bring out all those inflatable toys!  The weather is supposed to be wonderful.  Now, it's time for me to get off my bum and scoot.  I will be back with pictures of the painted bath/mudroom as soon as I can.  Stay cool!

I like that soft color. It is similar to "Rainwashed" by SW that I am going to use in the bedroom sometime in the next ten years. The party sounds like loads of fun. Stay cool. It is way hot here too-I have been gardening so early in the morning. It makes me tired all the heat and early hours. Olive

Love that beachy blue, Jane. Will love to see when done. Enjoy your vacation & fun times at the cottage.

We are roasting here, flowers are suffering ... but just now I look out & a marvelous storm going thru.

The lake looks soooo inviting ...

Sorry I have been remiss in visiting, but summer has been swamped with both business & family this year. Stay with me, I'll be back more soon.

Jane dear, so glad your Summer days at the lake are good - even though you're still working on your projects. No rest ever is there? I think you chose a lovely shade for the walls - hope the finished job is pleasing and you can sit and rest for a while now.

I like your current color, but really LOVE the new one you've chosen. I seem to like darker colors in other people's homes but find the softer shades more peaceful in my own.
