FALL UNFOLDS & MANY THANKS!

Everything went well.  I came home, The Husband had the whole day off from work and Emily came over and helped straighten up the house.  She is so much like me, it's scary.  She can't stand for anything to be out of place and she is constantly fussing.  She decided at the last minute to invite us to dinner (no stove yet...more on that later).  She  was making a corned beef and that got me excited, we never have that except around St. Patrick's Day.  So I went with her to the grocery for some odds and ends, still feeling fine, took a little nap and then we went to her and Mike's about 5:30.

Dinner was SO good...corned beef with cabbage, carrots and onions and rye bread.  I forgot to get a picture of the food and her table setting.  I'm bad.  She has so many beautiful things that she received at her wedding showers and then wedding gifts.  I'm envious of her pots and pans!  She had chalk board place mats with our names on them.  Really, really cute.  She made the corned beef like her in laws do...baked and basted with a mixture of mustard and brown sugar.  We were swooning!  Coconut macaroons for dessert.  :)

My daughter in law, Mary Clare was there as well.  She told me she and Kevin were pretty sure they are going to name the baby Elsie.  I think that's very cute.  I know Mary Clare has a soft sort of country side to her, her pup is named Tucker.  If the baby had been a boy, they wanted Ben.  She is feeling good and looks great!

We will be at the lake again this weekend, I'm going to set up camp outside and watch the leaves fall (as long as it's not rainy and miserable like last weekend).  It really has been a picture perfect summer and fall.  Our farmer's market will be ending soon so I want to go tomorrow just to walk around and breathe it in.  Never got around to those apple pies, nor did I get all those plants I wanted to when they were marked down, but there's always next year.  And right now is pretty darn good!

See you soon! :)

Jane xx

Your hair is gorgeous! Girl you'd better find a stove for all that cooking you like to do. Hope your hands are better pronto.

You "sound" good, Jane! I'm like you, I would put off the pain pills for as long as possible when I had surgeries. I tried to just take them at night so I could sleep.

So glad to hear you got your priorities straight - haircut before new stove. Atta girl! : ) It's funny how this picture looks much like your profile pic. Last haircut I got layers put back in. I'm so stupid and will never learn. I always fall back to layers when I get bored with my hair. It took me a couple of weeks to get used to it and at least now I don't hate it.

Oh Jane, I am so glad that everything went well with your surgery.
Your house looks good with your shinny pumpkins and your daughters also.
I have been busy putting my fall/halloween decorations together. After Halloween will pull that out and leave up the Fall until I do Christmas. Time is just moving to fast for me.
Have a wonderful weekend at the Lake - wish I was going with you, would love to see some Fall weather. Have picked up a sinus infection - so feel no so good right now.
Take care of yourself dear friend.

Love the basket your daughter made for you and I love the LOB...that is sort of what I have, too...only my hair is curly and I flat iron it straight.

Have fun at the cabin this weekend. That will be a treat. xo Diana

oh I am so glad that it all went well. I didn't think that you'd have a blog post up for weeks afterward so this is great! :)

Of course you are not scrubbing the bathtub...I think that you have to avoid that for a good YEAR, tell the Husband :)

I wore my hair like that for years and years - but since I can't do it myself and don't have time for the hairdressers every week like I used to - it basically looks like straw now lol !
How are you writing up posts with a cast on your arm? Superwoman?
I love the hydrangea's in the basket - and LOVE your daughter's mini pumpkins in the lantern - beautiful !
Have fun up at the lake - hugs,

Lot's of advice above me...
Before my simple advice...

A shout out to Emily for a lovely pamper post op dinner!

Your hair looks marvelous! You have such pretty hair! The trim makes it look super healthy!

Your Autumn home looks wonderful and inviting! I am so far behind with Fall decor. I have been given a huge extra work load for 3 weeks, as I cover for another surgery scheduling coordinator. I am 1/2 way there!

I have the "Grands" Friday, Sat and Sun, as Chrislyn and Jason are going to a church retreat. This weekend is also Opening of Duck and Goose season...so I am on my own. It's the first time that C and J have been away from the babes overnight. LOL wish me luck! :)

I am so happy to hear that your surgery went well. My advice is simple. Don't
"over do"...keep hydrated...this helps with pain management...and rest.

As always, you and the rest of the beautiful "B's" are in my thoughts and prayers.
OH and LOVE the "B" basket!
...so cute is Elsie. Traditional girl names are back...our Grandma's and Great Auntie's names...

So, so good your hand is not excruciating, like I though it'd be! (Yes...wuss here!)
Your kids are some of the best! How great it is to have Em--so like you in many ways; plus, a grandbaby from Kevin and his wife on the way with such a cute, "country" name! A young couple who sits in front of us at church Sundays has named their little one, Ellie Marie. She is such a cutie-pie.
Write when you can, dear gir!

Hello Jane,
So glad to hear all is going well for you.
I love the lantern too. I found one at a garage sale a few years ago. I just love the idea of putting gourds in it. Giving me ideas for Christmas decorating with mine. I may add some pine cones and cranberries. :-)

I would not have the patience you do re: not having a stove. Maybe that's one reason I'm single! :)

Your daughter is very talented ~ both in decorating and cooking. Love the basket!

I hope you're continuing to recover well from your surgery. I know you must be glad that you can still type! Maybe that will be good exercise for your fingers. LOL! Love your haircut. Don't you always feel lighter after a haircut? I know I do. Your dinner sounded good. Hope you get your stove delivered soon.

Hey Jane,
I came over to catch up and check on how your doing. I've been thinking about you. Did you have the other hand operated on too?
Love your pretty hair! And of course your fall decor.
We got back home yesterday, 3 a.m.
It was a wonderful trip, but now I am struggling with the time change, the weather change, and missing my son and his family.
I hope your not in too much pain friend. I worry.
Hugs friend,
