A WHOLE MESS OF DECORATING GOING ON!

Emily and Mike move into their new house on Friday.  This really is so exciting.  She has been shopping non stop to fill in all the nooks and crannies where they have not been given second hand furniture from family and friends.  She was able to do one of the bathrooms herself, as well as the master bedroom, so we have piles and heaps of everything everywhere.  She found these nightstands on clearance at Target yesterday, $48.98.  The mirrored drawer fronts are quite popular now...I like them, they are very transitional.  Both the bedroom and bath are going to be done in pale blue and gray.

So, tomorrow is the shower.  The cupcakes are in my car, the favors have been made, the flowers will be delivered, we'll be there an hour early to hang banners and light candles.  Then I am going to sit back and sip a mimosa and enjoy my little girl's day!

And don't forget, let me hear your ideas on that wall! :)

OMG, I'm exhausted after just reading this, Jane! You have got so much going on right now. So, of course, start a new project in the house. : )

For that wall, I am a fan of gallery walls. You could do a wall of pictures, mix in things like signs or other wall decor, just do wall decor, or plates. I've seen some great and interesting plate walls recently. I am just finishing up my second gallery wall in our entry. The first one I did in the living with black and white prints and frames/mats. This one has monograms, a clock, the sign I made and basically wall decor.

How about a gallery wall. You can just grow it as time goes by.

I am loving those 2 white bed side tables.

Hi Jane... how fun seeing all of your own decorating, and all of Emily's new lamps, etc... she (and you) must be so excited for the shower!... love your new bathroom shower curtain... as for your wall, I think some pretty wallpaper would look great, then put your pictures back on and I think your shelf will take care of itself... in the newest (April) Country Living British Edition (which I ADORE!) there is a room done with one wall in wallpaper and some pictures hanging, etc and it looks fabulous!... really an "English Country Cottage" look, and I think I read under things you love, that is one of them... anyway, maybe I am the only one who would suggest that, but then, I always do dance to a different drum than many here in blogland... I know with your sense of style whatever you do will look wonderful... sorry you all have not felt well, but it sounds like you are on the mend... have fun tomorrow!!!... much love, xoxo Julie Marie

How about a big clock on top of that antique cupboard or a mirror or piece of architecture. I like Kathie's idea of a gallery wall.....or maybe a huge canvas of a special photo.......maybe an older family photo when the kids were little.... casual one, since the wedding is coming up.

Jane - I can't believe you are jumping in and doing all of these decorating things so close to the wedding! Good for you!

On your LR wall, I'd do a gallery wall using different sizes of frames and have some of them go down beside the lamp on that table. You could work the pictures you have in or at least one or two of them.

Good luck!

Have fun tomorrow, Jane, and good luck. I love showers. xo P.S. For wall, maybe a mirror with the paintings flanking it? Or pretty scroll scones with candles or no candles, like they have in hobby Lobby? Even signs like they sell in Pier I with a nice saying, or one word.

At the end where you have the piece of furniture tall shelves would look good, I think. Otherwise the artwork seems to be floating. I'd try breaking it up with tall furniture.

Jane- What a lot of work-I'll bet you are feeling on edge and a bit overwhelmed with it all. I have a theory when it comes to these things- what gets done (working up to the last possible minute) gets done and what doesn't get done-doesn't matter.

If you can stand back a bit and send me a picture of the whole entire wall I might have a suggestion for you. Is that a mirror to the far left? xo Diana

You are going full-tilt! I can just imagine the excitement at your house - and then you redecorate a bathroom off the side of your desk?? You are amazing.

ohmygosh, that shower curtain is wonderful! totally understand about projects that take your mind off other "projects". glad you're feeling better. I had the cold from hell two weeks ago and I thought I'd NEVER get over it!

You have a LOT going on!!!
ALL my walls are gallery walls!

Jane,

You are one busy lady! Re: your wall, what if you moved the pictures above the cabinet. That would give height, would move them from the mirror. Then find a large picture for further down that wall....maybe?? Love the shower curtain. Show us your shelves when you finish. Have fun at the shower!

Wow you have a lot going on and I don't have a clue about your wall, I'm not good about such things, I usually just keep putting holes in the wall until it looks right. And, by the way, we have those switch covers and I'm sure we found them either at Lowes or HD. I love them.

Well tomorrow will be a real special day for you. I hope it all comes together well at your house and that you can totally enjoy this time!

I will be thinking about that wall but I would say either something bigger of more of littles! Love the shower curtain! I haven't been to JCPenneys lately, I need to go there!

You are busy, busy! Love the shower curtain and the light switch, so pretty. I think a gallery wall would be pretty maybe with some empty frames mixed in so it doesn't get too heavy. Or you could put some smaller pics in larger frames with a solid matting as well. It's so nice that you have that big wall, I'm lacking that in my house so I have a gallery wall in the upstairs hallway.
Have a great Sunday!

Nothing like adding more to your plate...speaking of plates a cute gallery wall of them along with pics is so cute. My last home tour had that plate wall and I adored it.

Exciting times. I never know what to do with big wall. We hung an antique quilt on one in our family room and a framed quarter of a quilt on another in the upstairs family room. I guess when all else fails, I must go with fabric. lol I hope you'll share some shower pics!

Wonderful...now just take a moment to breathe.....deeply.

Hi Jane, You are busy, busy, and the wedding is getting closer. Hasn't the time just flown by? You think there is still quite a lot of time to find out differently. Enjoy your daughters bridal shower, that is the start. We are still getting blowing snow and the visibility isn't the greatest. I am just staying home. The best place for me. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.

You are a busy bee. To make the pictures seem more a part of the room, I would select some piece of furniture that is bigger or taller to build your gallery around.....or bring the pictures down a bit.Maybe add one large focal point...I've seen big antique like clocks that are round that might look nice mixed in with pictures. Just play with it...I'm sure you will make it beautiful.
Have fun at the shower.Anxious to hear all about it.

Blondie, Have a great day at the shower. I think a gallery wall is always nice. I laughed about your re-do...it's nice.. I see where one thing leads to another. I love those little table with the mirrors. Don't over do , since you have been sick. It can not be much longer till the real Spring arrives, right? xoxo,Susie

Busy lady - but happy lady I think! Hope Emily's shower is fun - and by now you are almost sipping the second mimosa!

If you don't have any mirrors in that room perhaps one over that antique cabinet. Are there windows opposite - kinda hard to see without a pic of your entire room Jane. I love mirrors to reflect light, especially if there's a garden outside a window.

Like that shower curtain. Despite Penney's problems, now and then they still come through. Jasmin and I were there yesterday but the store is undergoing a big upheaval so it was hard to find anything. I had a $10 gift card come in the mail - found a nice casual 'activewear' top for $14 and when I went to pay the difference it rang up at $10 so it was FREE! Don't you love when that happens?

Hang in there dear.
Hugs - Mary

I have a similar problem wall Jane ~ we have been in the house for 11 years and nothing has hung there ever! So I am probably not the person to ask for guidance ~ lol!! Hope you had a wonderful time at the shower today.

Hey busy girl! I like the idea of a gallery wall but I think it might be too "busy" in that vast space. I like Brenda's idea of the shelves or even incorporating a big mirror on the wall and then the pictures beside it. The pictures are really pretty, but they seem to be lost on the wall as you have them now. xoxo

I can only imagine how lovely yesterday was for you and your family.

You have lots on your plate, but it's all so fun!

The wall. I am reading that everyone is suggesting a gallery wall or plates. You need a simple solution, because of the time factor. I seem to remember some pretty white French plates that you were contemplating hang on a wall.
I like the idea of the tone on tone as to keep the focal point on the (paintings / prints/.)

Just for fun...I drew a little diagram for you. I will photograph it and email it to you!

Hi Jane! Sorry you've been so sick at this time especially! Glad you're up and running now! I'm tired just reading about what all is going on. I'm sure the shower will be marvelous! You take care of yourself and enjoy. I have those switchplates in my breakfast room.
I don't remember where I got them.
Be a sweetie,
