LITTLE AUTUMN TOUCHES

I think everyone has this book by Susan Branch.  I bring it out every fall and re-read it.  It really puts me in the mood for cooler, gorgeous weather and all things associated with it.  This little vignette sits on the kitchen island.  In the upper right corner you can see dinner defrosting in the microwave!  I'm bad.

I'm leaving you with a picture of the pizza's I made the other night.  Abby gave up meat a few weeks ago so these are just veggies and fresh mozzarella.  Very quick and easy with the store bought crust and a great way to use of vegetables sitting in your fridge.  There is no sauce, just olive oil and Parmesan cheese.  Delish!

I hope to be back early next week, feeling better of course.  In the meantime, I will keep visiting and gathering up ideas to make this fall the best.  See you soon!

I'm joining the party at A Stroll Thru Life hosted by Marty!  :)

Oh, feel better, Jane! I think you've got a good amount of decorating for Fall out! I haven't put out everything this year; just little touches here and there. I'll get some real pumpkins in a couple of weeks and add them into the mix. Love that round table! It's such a great size, too. I do the same thing when I don't feel well or can't sleep {which seems to be a regular problem lately}. I hit the couch so I don't disturb hubby. He's the one that has to get up and go to work, after all!

I'm so sorry to hear you have a cold, Jane. It's hard to be enthusiastic about bringing fall inside when you feel lousy.

I like natural touches, too, although every year I succumb to temptation and buy a few new things for fall.

I am sorry you have been sick. Something is going around. I am just getting over it too.

Started with a sore throat but that left after a day, then turned into achy body with a terrible cold. A runny nose and horrid dry cough that has lingered into week three now!
Just when I think I am getting better, night comes and the coughing starts again! Ugh!

Hope you recover more quickly than I have.

And yes, to answer your question.... I have been MIA! Working full time for a year now, I am forever late to comment and late to post. My blogging time has been cut into one tenth the time I used to have!!!

Have missed you! Will try to get back here and visit more often. :)

xox
Feel better soon.

Sorry you have been sick :( No fun. The pizza looks delicious. I almost always make homemade pizza from store pizza dough and I make my own sauce - so inexpensive and freezes well. As you said, it's a great way to use up what's in the fridge.

Well for somebody who doesn't feel well I'm very impressed. :) The pizza looks awesome and so do your decorations. I never thought of bringing sedum in to dry. Good idea! I do hope you all feel better soon...it's not fun when more than one person is sick.

Hi dear,

I WISH we could meet when I am on book tour, but right now it looks like I'll not be your way until spring.

Julie Marie was saying how much fun it would be to meet up.

You probably know that Sue has been my girlfriend since the 1970s. I got to watch some of the work she did on the Autumn book and it was painstaking. And, at that point she was so worn out from all the hand lettering, etc. But, she stuck to it and I love the book. Vineyard Seasons remains my favorite, though.

I love stopping in and visiting with you.

All joys,

Sharon

Jane, Sorry you've had a bug, but glad you're on the mend and feeling like decorating a little. Your sedum looks so good in the twig/wicker..vase. I do that a lot, especially when I didn't cut mine back in the summer and it got leggy. Some of my sedum is well behaved, and some gets too tall and flops over. Love the big pitcher with hydrangeas. Have a good week and feel better soon.

Hi Jane,

I hope you are feeling better. I got some kind a virus that lasted all last week. And you're right it really made my creativity dull.

I read Susan Branch's blog all the time, I love her. She is working on a new book about her recent trip to England.

Your vignettes look wonderful. I finally got my fall wreath up today. My daughter bought me the most gorgeous Cinderella pumpkin for the front steps.

Wishing you and your husband good health.
