I pulled some decorative accessories out of my stash to dress everything up. The guest house (Summerhouse) is there in the background. I have yet to get in there and clean it out. And I still have the front yard and porch to work on. But I have to say, I got my exercise! Of course we relaxed, neighbors visited and we cooked out for the first time this summer. It really was a great weekend. I'm joining in with Tracie's Garden Party at Fishtail Cottage! See you soon! :)

Your lakehouse is so nice! Your flowers look great and the bean hyacinth will get purple flowers on them, I think they also have purple type beans too! Or perhaps the beans turn into the bloom. I had these years ago and I forget.
Sounds like a wonderful weekend to me with friends too!
Oh girl, you are really making everything looks beautiful! Love your husband's resting spot:) Have a blessed week and yet another happy weekend ahead! HUGS!
thats the way to garden...by a beautiful lake!!!!
Planting is so relaxing and your guy has caught on to that. The palms are stunning, I tend to kill them here.
Everything looks great, Jane. My oregano is huge this year too, in a pot. It was already going to seed. xo
The gardens look great. Looks like the perfect start of summer!!!

Nice to have a helper. I love that first trellis. Is it made of iron?

Hi Jane,
Your garden is looking lovely. I wish Mr. Sissie would take an interest in gardening but he's too busy on the golf course greens! LOL!
One year I planted lambs ear and it took over the entire garden. I liked to never got rid of it. Better keep an eye on it because it spreads like wild fire.
I love hearing about your lovely lake house.
hugs
Sissie
ya'll worked hard and it looks great.
thanks for the epson salts trick. I may give that a try.
It sounds like you had a great weekend, Jane! Getting all the fluffing and cleaning out of the way, you'll both be able to just relax when you go up there.
Everything looks great Jane!... how cute your hubby hidden behind the palms with his cigar!... your Oregano looks like it is doing really well... do you dry some of it too besides using it fresh?... sounds like you had a nice time at the lake... it it sooo hot here today, 90 degree plus and Tessy and I are inside this afternoon doing nothing, which is strange for me as I am usually going warp speed... xoxo Julie Marie

I wonder what the epsom salts do...i might have to google that. I love gardening and having the herbs next to your kitchen for easy snipping is great. Good to have a gardener for a hubby.
It is funny that you are just planting tomatoes and we have been harvesting ours for several weeks. You will enjoy your hyacinth bean-it has beautiful flowers. Be sure and let a few blooms go to seed and save them.
O, my goodness, Blondie, how blessed you are to have a summer lake house. I would LOOOOVE having a second home to escape to every now and then. We should have bought one years ago but......didn't.
So glad you have one.
Everything sure is looking pretty. You do seem to have a green thumb.
Enjoy....
Your lake house gardens are so beautiful!!! Love the trellis for your climbing roses too :o)

How fun, Jane, to work together with your husband, to create such a beautiful lake home.
WOW, what energy. I wish I did a fraction of that here. We are having LOTS of rain and the weed population is EXPLODING! I love all your edibles, YUMMMMY!
Everything looks so beautiful, You deserve a good rest too...
Have a fun week,
Hugs,
Donna
Jane, all that work in the garden pays off. You are going to have a beautiful summer.
How sweet that he wanted to help. Doesn't it just make you happy when they want to help with a project you usually do yourself. My mr. helped with painting this past winter and it just made the time go by faster.
Ok give, what is the trick with the Epsom salt?
It looks wonderful...your hard work is paying off!!! :) Laurel
SO pretty sweet lady! I enjoyed seeing all the photos and catching up! How beautiful it is there...know you love it!
Love,
Sue
Jane, I always tell you how romantic I think it is to have a lake house. Even your work looks like fun!
Looks like you two have been working hard! It's looking great!
What wonderful things you planted! Everything looks so beautiful and charming too. After planting mine this year I could barely move - I needed a masage desperately! Guess I hadn't sat on the ground in that position for a year and the muscles didn't like it! Everything sounds so fun - we need to have friends over for a BBQ!
I am always delighted to find a fellow blogger from Illinois. You have a very nice blog! I am your latest follower. I hope you will come and visit my blog.

Your garden looks so beautiful! What a wonderful place to relax and enjoy all your hard work. Can't wait to see more. Thanks for stopping by with your inspiring comment. I'm following you too! Have a fun weekend.

You have such a beautiful garden! Your place looks like a vacation retreat! Just gorgeous.
Sweet Peas do not like the heat, We get in the 100's here but they make a wonderful Spring flower. Plant the seeds in the Fall (be sure to nick or soak the seeds overnight for easier germination). After you plant them once, they will reseed themselves if you leave them dry up in the garden before removing the dead plant. Or you can collect the seeds from the pods yourself. Mine just finished and are going to seed, just to give you an idea of the time frame. So while they don't do well in the Summer they are great for the Spring garden. And their sweet scent is amazing. I like to pcik the flowers for sweet little bouquets ♥
Thanks so much for stopping by!
*hugs*deb
How sweet that your hubby wanted to plant..my husband is the hole digger and compost hauler, too. Your flats of plants look so good. I love buying flowers in flats so I have lots of the same kind. Happy times at the lake. :)
It looks like such a relaxing place...and the flowers look great too!
Looks lovely! Can't wait to see how your tomatoes turn out.
A fun productive week-end for sure ~ it is instant gratification when you can actually see what you have accomplished. Everything looks great Janie ~ before long you will be able to just sit back and enjoy. xo
Wow it was a big weekend in the garden Jane, but all your efforts will obviously reap beautiful results. It must be fun seeing the lake house 'wake up' for summer again. x
I don't know how you do it all, Jane! I have trouble enough just keeping this house and garden presentable, and you do it with two and a guest house - you are amazing. Everything is looking so pretty by the lake - keep on having fun!
