SHOPPING THE SHED

We really had a great day yesterday. The Husband took the day off from work and we headed west, about 50 miles, to visit Joy from Savvy City Farmer and her Shop The Shed event. You might remember we also went last fall. I took gobs of pictures and I have posted a few {ha ha} for your pleasure.
I'll keep the dialogue to a minimum so you can just look and dream.
Okay, I have to disrupt the silence. Look at these shutters. Don't you love the color? I wouldn't change them a bit.

Me again...I am thinking of putting some ivy plants in my birdbath. They will stay watered and look beautiful. Great idea.

There were a lot of plants for sale and set up in cute vignettes. I bought a beautiful pot of baby tears.

The Husband warned me not to get any ideas about furniture, but I really fell in love with this little piece.

Tents were set up to protect everyone from the pouring rain. These pictures were taken in the shed.

I came away really wanting to start potting plants...the gardening bug is really biting.
Joy's daughter Angela, from Parisienne Farmgirl makes the best macarons. I bought a dozen and as you can see, there aren't many left. Aren't they pretty?

You might remember that Joy and Angela's homes are features in Fifi O' Neill's book, Romantic Prairie Style. It really has been nice getting to see them at the Shop The Shed sales. There will be another one in September. Maybe I will leave The Husband at home and buy some furniture.

I think I'm ready for Easter. Ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, asparagus, and corn. The whole family will gather for dessert in the evening. I am making cupcakes and cheesecake. And I have a few new appetizer recipes that I will share with you at another time.

Wishing you all a wonderful and blessed Easter! :-)

Oh HOW I wish I could have gone to this sale with you! I would have snagged those shutters and helped you carry all the furniture you "NEEDED!"

I like the birdbath flower Idea, too. Any bird that is dumb enough to take a bath in my birdbaths get eaten by one of our three cats!

The colors of the furniture pieces are awesome! How could you not bring home that little cabinet???
You are so lucky to live close enough to visit that shop/shed.
I hope you have a wonderful Easter with your family, Jane!

What beautiful things, Jane! I think I might have looked to get one of those chairs. We have had so much rain here lately, and it is forecasted for the whole week coming up. My yard is an absolute wreck and I haven't been able to get out there and at least clean things up. I'm looking forward to flowers, but need to get the beds cleaned up and the lawn mowed.

On a side note, I moved a bird bath I had in the back yard to a front bed and I've been putting a round flat tray of assorted annuals in it for the past two years now. It looks great and it brings the flowers and their colors up from the ground, too.

OOh Jane!! This looks like our kind of shopping! Love that desk....if only we had a place for it!! That first picture is similar to something we did at Karrie's house - we had found an old rusty base from a glass dining table & stuck an old tub in it - it looks gorgeous in the summer with all of her flowers in it!
