~~SALLE DE BAIN~~

Maybe it's the rainy, blustery weather we are having but I am so ready to take a warm bath, put on some flannel pajamas and snuggle up in front of the fire. I think Chinese food will be on the menu tonight. I've had the sniffles the past few days and I was pushing on until today and when I woke up to the rain this morning I decided to just stay in and stay warm. Other than running out for some firewood, I have been in my little nest.
My posts revolve around my pictures {I have taken all of these}. They get me talking, so to speak. So today I was relegated to walking around the house, taking pictures here and there and I edited them to those only in the bathrooms. Pretty weird, huh? The bathrooms in my home are just about the only rooms that aren't cluttered, I guess because they are small. I keep only pretty things in them without letting them become too feminine. So I'm very fussy about what I put on the walls and counter tops.
Fresh flowers, dried flowers and prints of flowers make me smile.
And a little French twist never hurts since The Husband is half French.
We didn't make it to the lake this weekend, my brother is visiting from Louisville. I had to cancel our lunch date due to said sniffles, which were really awful this morning, but I will see him again soon. I sure wanted to have that bonfire though.

Well off I go to make that big bubble bath while The Husband orders the Chinese and then we are going to watch a movie via some new contraption he has called a Boxy Box. I keep calling it a Busy Box and since it seems to reference a child's toy, he's not amused. What are you doing on this Saturday night? Have you had a better weekend than me? Please don't tell me you are putting up Christmas decorations because I may become envious and I don't like myself that way.

Hope you are having better weather than Chicago. Stay warm and dry and I will be back soon!

Oh sweet Jane....so sorry you are under the weather....cold season is upon us and I know they can be miserable.

By the way...stop by to see me I have something for you.

Sorry you have a "bug"! I can't say I'm far enough from you to have better weather...although we are probably a few degrees warmer. We woke to gray and rain, it was 25 degrees cooler here this afternoon than yesterday afternoon.

I'm still trying to catch up from being in Florida. My husband came home sick from work last night, so although he was a bit better...we only ran a couple errands today. We bought new appliances-I'm changing to stainless. That was enough for one day:) Feel better soon.

Sometimes we need a little sniffle to slow down our pace. You mentioned Christmas decorations...I did the front of the house yesterday..It was warm out and a perfect day to do it. It seems I always wait till my fingers freeze. Well, take care and keep warm...Balisha

I hate to hear you are having rainy blustery weather on this Saturday. Especially since that means we will have it in a day or two.

I actually had the house to myself for awhile, but really didn't do much with the time.

This morning I started getting the house in order so I can decorate in the coming weeks. There's still a lot to be done.

I hope you feel better in the morning. Enjoy the movie! La

Hello Jane, ooh, I hope you feel better soon... snuggly jammies and a warm fire sounds good right now... our weather has been snowy and cold, in the 30's... your salle de bain photos are beautiful, I especially love the second one with the roses... I didn't know your hubby is half French... which part of France are his ancestors from? Mine are from Soual, Tarn France... wouldn't that be something if his family was from there too??? Love to you... xoxo Julie Marie

I hope you feel better soon. A cold can really stop you in your tracks.

If you have rainy weather, I guess it will be my way soon. We are at the beach this weekend and it's beautiful here with lots of sun.

And I agree- there is nothing better than nesting at home-especially if you aren't feeling well.

I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I do hope you get well soon. I won't tell you that I am 95% finished with my Christmas decorating but that is only because I'm out of town the week of Thanksgiving. ;) You will get yours all done while I'm away!! Take care sweet lady, and I do hope you enjoyed the warm bath!

Doing nothing as I am still not feeling great. It was beautiful out today and tomorrow too. Hubs wants me to help put the lights up, I want him to paint the new front door, it has to be warm to do it, and I want it done for the holidays. Let's see who wins!

Speaking of pretty wreaths Jane. That one is beautiful! I love all the shots of your bathroom.
I feel so bad that you are feeling bad. I was sick all last week with the flu, and I felt so sorry for myself, because the weather was beautiful here and now this week it is so dang cold and I feel great! Isn't that the way it always goes. I did manage to hang the outdoor Christmas lights though. OOPS, I forgot...I wasn't supposed to mention holiday decorating...sorry sweetie!
Get better and big hugs to you!

You have such pretty decorations in your bathrooms, love the wreath and potted flowers too!
I am just sitting home with the hubby doing the same as you. It was yucky here all weekend but at least we escaped the snow. The twin cities got a foot! Thank goodness it went there.
Hugs to you,
Cindy

Hope you feel better Jane! Lovin' the idea of a fire and nice bubble bath! We've been having great weather in Philly the last few days, but I'm sure cold and dreary will return here soon! Happy Sunday:@)
PS-No Christmas decorations for me yet, but right after Thanksgiving dinner-Woo Hoo!

Crystal said...

So sorry to hear you are feel bad, but a nice hot bubble bath sure sounds good.
We have actually had great weather the past few day. However, I think the dreary is headed our way this week.
By the way, I did put up my outside Christmas decorations, but my son says only old people put them out now. So I told him I guess I am old. Actually, it gets to windy and cold up here on the PA mountain top and then they don't get put out :)
Please don't be envious though, I did not do anythng inside yet.
Hope you feel better soon.

It was fairly warm in nc so daughter and I went to the barn to look thru the holiday containers. Choosing what we'd use and left the rest..
Some years I just cant deal with the 23 house village- all our painted santa's and other ceramic items.
We're having a guest for the holidays and I think I'll wait till she gets here to do the decorating as she so loves to help.
I hope you feel better soon..

I love that wreath, Jane!!

J is half French too...of course his first French ancestor in America (Colonial) was over 200 years ago. But still he has French and German ancestry and that is about it, so we say he's half French.:-)

Hope you are feeling better.

And no, the Christmas decor isn't out yet but my outside is done in white lights!!! So exciting!

Bummer to hear you're under the weather, Jane. Are you getting enough fresh Vit. C daily? I'm pushing the OJ & pineapple juice since cold season has started. I catch everything from those g'kidlets.

Love all your accessoire de salle de bain! Very pretty photos!

Sorry to tell you all our Christmas lights have been put up outside. I never thought DH would be able to do that again, after his ♥ attack a year ago. He was out there, having a ball...he loves to decorate & it was probably our last warm day to do it.

Feel better fast!!

First of all, I'm SO sorry you've been sick. I hate sniffles, and I felt as if I might be coming down with something like that all day. I had other issues all weekend, and didn't get out of bed on Monday because I felt so bad. But I'm at least in the land of the living. I pray you are feeling better. Sorry you didn't get to see your brother, too. And that's funny about the busy box! ;-)

I love your wreath! It is very neat, and I like all of your Frenchy things. We need to go shopping together!

If your son comes to Florida this winter, I hope you come down here, too!

XO,

Sheila :-)
