TABLETOP TUESDAY & VIGNETTE FRIDAYS

Hi! I am officially out of my bed and feeling better. Not 100%, but enough to not get out of breath so often. I actually went out today with the excuse of getting oxygen to some of my extremities {!!} and stopped by the Dollar Tree. Spending $47.00 really made me feel better {sorry, most of it was cleaning supplies}. I did get these cute pumpkins and made a little vignette to start out my fall decorating. This is the same side table that I had Mr. Bunny displayed on in my last 2 posts, you'd think I had no other table, but I like it's chippiness. I'm pleased with the pumpkins because I bought almost the same thing at CVS for $3.99. They are really cute to scatter around or add to other vignettes.
I also got out Saturday evening when The Husband and I went out for a quick dinner. This is what it looked like on the way home, going down the Eisenhower Expressway at 65 m.p.h. You can see the Chicago skyline just as dusk was ending.
The tall black building is the Sears Tower. Pretty pictures, aren't they? I don't know why they turned out so jazzy.

I want to thank everyone that has wished me well with this crazy cold/asthma thing. I have switched doctors and I go to my new one on Thursday. Hopefully she will start me on some medication so I don't have a trace of this left when I leave for Vegas on Saturday. Speaking of Vegas, I am mentally packed. Hopefully I haven't forgotten anything. Today I learned that the 'BIG' act we may be seeing is a ventriloquist. If any of you don't know, I am hearing impaired and read lips a lot. I thought seeing a talking puppet was a really bad joke. But we'll see.

Today I am joining in with Marty of A Stroll Thru Life and Artie at Color Outside The Lines for Tabletop Tuesday and Vignette Fridays, respectively... I may see you one more time before I leave. Have a great week! :-)

Jane, I am so happy to hear that you are feeling better. I hate being sick and it sounds like you have done the right thing in finding another opinion.

I am also glad that your retail therapy has helped aid your recovery. I think you need to do more of that!

Take care and look after yourself!

Best wishes,
Natasha.

I love your pretty vignette Jane!
I will have to check out the dollar tree for some of those cute pumpkins!
And girl, you really had me chuckling with that ventrilquest thing.
Hey the Bears and Packers play tonight! Will Al be glued to the tv?
Guess who Dan wants to win.(hehe)
So glad your feeling better too,

Hi Jane...so glad you are feeling better there. Retail therapy, oh yes works like a charm, til the Visa bill comes in then you get sick again. That vignette looks really pretty too....see you have a great touch!

I am so glad that you are feeling better! I hope the new Dr can treat you with some magical potion & you feel great for your trip. Be careful with all the smoke in the casinos, etc. That gets me every time. I have vertigo now ~ not fun. I'm seeing an allergist tomorrow and hoping some sort of magic will happen while I'm there. :-)

Your pumpkins are adorable! I have boxes of fall/Halloween decor but haven't felt like getting it out...or finding it all. It will be like an Easter egg hunt!

Take good care, ok? I'll be thinking of you.

Glad that you are feeling a touch better. Our son went to the ER last week with a terrible sinus infection, he suffers with asthma... Dr's said that this was just the worst year for allergies.
Hoping that you are feeling 100% before Vegas... such a fun place, it would be a shame to miss some of it.
LOVE your Dollar store vignette : ) Going to have to go check it out for myself tomorrow.

Hi Jane Sweetie...
I am so happy that you are feeling a little better. Please take care of yourself, you don't want to end up like me. I started out with pneumonia and asthma exacerbation and before it was over, 10 days in the hospital, and so much medication, and now I have a fold in my vocal cord and can't even talk normally. All the coughing seems to have done me in. Please be so careful sweet friend.

I love your beautiful vignette. SO gorgeous near that throw on the couch. I love it.

So you are going to Vegas. Yeah, what fun you will have. If you ever make it to Phoenix, please let me know. I would SO love to meet you sweet friend.

Take care and keep me posted with your new dr. results. I will be holding you up in prayer sweetie.

Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi Jane, glad you are feeling better. I have some orange pumpkins like you have (from CVS a few years ago) and recently got 3 white ones at the Dollar Tree. (Am I a copy cat?) You are right...they are fun to scatter around! I like your display. Oh, you mentioned the Eisenhower road....I was a little girl during his presidency and I remember that everyone said "I like Ike". He was great - like everybody's grandfather. What a great memory! Linda

Hi Jane. So glad to hear that you're up and about and feeling a bit better. Aren't pumpkins the most amazing shape...love them! And you know what...I think creativity comes in many forms...the way we speak to others, the menus we devise, the trips we plan, the appreciation of others' creativity. And the way we place a few pumpkins! It's all relative :)

Paula@SweetPea said...

Glad that you are feeling better! I love your pumpkin display with the wheat. It is perfect for this time of year.

Sue said...

Janie, I do hope you start getting back to "normal" soon. It's no fun to be sick on any adventure or trip. Of course, shopping is a magnificent cure-all for anything that ails- I justify quite readily...
I want to stay well for my two upcoming trips. I have to party at a wedding in Florida next weekend and then the furniture market the following week. The sinus thing is beginning to bother me, I hope it won't manifest itself into my weird asthma- basically extreme bronchitis. I don't do the whole wheezing thing, I just hack away.
Anyway, get better so you guys can have loads of fun.
hugs, Sue

Lovely vignette! I really like the wheat and your pumpkins are very cute. I may have to swing by CVS, then again, better not! I have too much of that good feeling after a shopping spree too! LOL! So glad you are getting help and are on the road to recovery! I hated to hear you were suffering. Take care!

Jane, I don't know if you were serious... but I'm hearing impaired too! Significantly. I do have hearing aids, but they don't help - they just amplify without clarifying. I use CC on the television and forget having a decent conversation with my in the car of a noisy restaurant. I also have tinnitus. FUN! ...

But your therapy ideas sound like good ones to me! Hahaha...I love your little goodies. I do think you feel better already!
Blessings to you sweet one.
