Jane, just coming on for the first time today. Oh, I am so sorry to see this. Please know that I am holding you and your family in my prayers. You are very special to me....I mean that.
Oh Blondie! I am so sorry honey. I am sending prayers as I see your picture. Prayers for your Dad to get through this and prayers for you to hold you up as he walks this path. Remember: Jeremiah 30:17 - "I will give you back your health & heal thy wounds", saith the Lord. Stand firm on this scripture. I will be praying for all of you honey. Lots of love and hugs, Sherry
Hello, Jane, I am so sorry to hear of your father's illness. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for stopping by Bunny Cottage. I would love for you to use the quote by Mary Ann Radmacher. Vicki
Dear Jane, I will keep you all in my prayers... I have had four family members with cancer... it is a hard thing to go through... never give up... remember... "faith, hope, and love"... Much love, Julie Marie
I am terribly sorry, Jane. I am going to be praying really hard for him and for you to have more strength. Your picture made me very sad and made me cry. You need to be strong for your dad. Let's just all pray for him together, ok?...Christine
I am so sorry to hear that! I have all of the faith in the world that it will be cured. I will keep your father and your family in my prayers. xo Penny
Hey pretty lady....I too am so sorry to hear this. Cancer is such a scary word to us, but it's not to God. Your dad and family will certainly be in my prayers as he begans this journey. Keep in touch and let us know how he's doing. (((warm hugs))) _Ashley*
May the Lord touch your Father with His healing hands ... may He hold you all up during this time. Prayers will be lifted for all of you. I am so sorry of this news.
Those must have been the hardest words to type...I'm so sorry! You, your Dad, and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us posted.
Treasure every moment - the good and the bad, and never ever leave his side without telling him you love him. You'll never be sorry you did. Daddy's are very special. Prayers headed your way.
I am so sorry. I had the same news 4 years ago and and my Dad is still going strong. Just want you to know there is hope and I will be praying for you and your Dad.
So sorry. You and your family will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. My Dad was diagnosed with cancer a year and a half ago. He is doing really well now. I know exactly how you feel. Confused and scared. Prayer and the love of family and friends will get you all through this. Take care of yourself and know that you have lots of people who will be lifting you up. DD
Blondie, that you for your visit and sweet comments on my aprons, but I'm sooooo sad for you learning about your dad having cancer, sugar. It must be absolutely devastating. I can't imagine anything worse than losing someone close to you. xoxo, Connie
Hi, thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment. I'm stopping back to say hello and read about your father. I'm so sorry, I know how you feel I went through this with both my parents. My prayers are with you. Bless you, Shirl Shirls Rose Cottage
Those are harsh words when you first hear them...will be praying for you and your dad and family...The nurse in me wants to know what kind? We prayed for a friend of ours tonight who has Melanoma and will be learning the severity of it tomorrow...I'll be holding you all up in prayer...keep us posted when you can God Bless, xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...
Jane, I am so sad to hear your news. We all dread that word so very much. Cancer cures today have reached so much more effectiveness than ever before. I read that less people die from cancer than ever before. Prayers go out to you and your dad as we speak.
Jane, I am so deeply sorry. I will pray his doctors will know of the best treatments available. My brother in law my age and my nephew both have cancer. It is a terrible thing to go through but I am amazed at all the wonderful treatments available. I will remember you and your family in my prayers. Have faith and always hope in your heart.
With all the modern technology and advancement in medicine it seems incredible to me that we aren't closer to a cure yet for this terrible desease. I send prayer your way to give you peace in this time of struggle. Lots of love to you and your family!
oh wow...I am so very sorry to hear this. I know how you feel...a couple of years back we found out mine has emphysema. It is a very hard thing to accept that our dad's are mortal. If there is anything I can do...please let me know.
On a brighter note...I got your comment...and yes I will be your friend in spite of the faces you like to make...after all....I make them too....wanna see? It's a unibrow smile... {8-) made ya look!
You'll be fine, Janie, I know you are strong. I know it is not easy but who knows, maybe your dad will be ok. Don't think of the worse. I hope he is not in pain because that won't be easy for you to witness, but let's continue to pray for him. God is good.
We have a lot of luggage. Sometimes, I would take only 1 luggage when I travel and then I end up buying another one after shopping. You take care, my friend!...Christine
So sorry to hear about your father. Today has been an emotional day for me. We had a remembrance service at our church for our pastor who had committed suicide five years ago. So to hear about your father brings a tear to my eye as well. Just today I was hugging my father. I do that every time I see him now. Never sure how long he is going to be with us.
I am so so sorry and totally empathize with you and your situation. I really hope and pray that your dad recovers fully, which I strongly believe with lots and lots of effort and prayers that it is very possible. I’ve definitely been there before with my dad passing away from bladder cancer a few years back. I wish there was something I can do to help. Perhaps I can help by just sending prayers your way and giving you the following recommendations… If nothing else, remember these basic things.
1. Have your dad laugh out loud everyday (3 stooges or Saturday Night Live is good). 2. Always give him the sense of ‘purpose’ (very very important!!). 3. Have your dad verbally say everyday that ‘he is thankful for his healing’. 4. Change his environment to a healthier one (food and air), with lots of antioxidants (strawberries & raspberries in frozen section—they are great!)
If you're up for reading (especially when you can’t sleep at night worrying about your dad), I've just read this book a couple of weeks ago that I highly recommend to everyone I know. It has to do with the Law of Attraction (I’m a firm believer in it—you hear miracles and testimonies on the internet all the time on the law of attraction) which can ‘invoke’ miracles if you attract it in a certain way, which requires some knowledge. It has not only made me ‘healthier’ and happier in the shortest period in time, but there have also been things in my life with nothing short of being miraculous. If I have it spelled right, the website where you can get this book is:
http://www.LawofAttract.com
I’ll check it and come back and change it if it’s wrong (it’s ‘attract’ at the end and not ‘attraction’).
Perhaps I can also help by offering you my email address for anything else I can do to help, or if you just need someone to write to.
kyle@filmtvjobs.com
Well, I hope I’ve been some help. Remember to always find a way to think positive, regardless of how you feel at the time.
Well, my email is long enough.
Hoping your dad gets back on his feet soon! I’ll definitely be sending prayers your way! Write to me if you need to talk.
I was coming over to thank you for your sweet note that you left for me...and then I see this! Ohhh...my dear friend...I am so terribly sorry! Looking at your photo...I can see the hurt and my heart breaks right along with yours!!! There really are no words that can be said...but I do hope you know that you have an entire army of friends and by reading the comments...prayer warriors to support you, your dad and family!!! I am adding your dad to my prayer list now...I'll be lifting up him to the Lord daily, Sweetie! If there is anything at all that I can do...besides pray...please let me know!
I am so sorry. I had this very news about my father 4 years ago. He is doing great, so there is always hope. I will keep you and your Dad in my prayers. Hugs, Jewel
That's such an ugly word. I'm a ovarian cancer survivor. My sister had colon cancer; she's struggling still. My brother has throat cancer, and is not doing well.
I'll pray for your dad. Maybe you could pray for my family.
Dear Janie, I'm sorry you received this bad news. Put your trust in a higher power and know that you have many friends praying for you and your dad. xo Sue
I remember the day my Bobby G. walked in the door and into the kitchen, where I was cooking dinner, and said those same words to me. Talk about shock...and terror. But he is here and well and alive and kicking butt. So will your Dad. xo Lynn
Oh Janie, I am so so sorry. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I have become so accustomed to seeing your smiling face in my daily blog adventures.. and I hope with prayers and God's grace it will be back very soon.
Love to you and your family. If I could reach out with a hug right now I would. Maryrose
My prayers go out to your father in hopes he will eventually regain his health. Tell him to be strong and do all possible to beat the big C. I know it's hard but it's worth the effort - I know I've been there, also my dh. We are stronger for it and life is more precious each and every day.
......and sweet Jane, be sure to take care of you too because he will need you.
Oh Jane. I am so, so sorry. I will keep your father and you..as well as all your family...in prayer and thought. Know that you are uplifted by so many friends who love you. We are all here for you... Love, Sue
Not even sure how I landed on your blog here...saw your comment here and felt a pang in my heart. My dad has cancer as well and has been battling it for some time now. Deep sigh, prayers for healing and comfort, deep breath and one day at a time.
OMG! How did I miss this?! I'm yammering on about tomatoes and corn...
I am so sorry to hear this...is he OK? Are YOU OK? I am sending you a big hug and loving thoughts from the shorehouse...I wish I were there to hug you in person. :-(
I just came across your blog today and when I saw this post I had to leave a comment since my father too had cancer and I remember EXACTLY how I felt and was affected by it. It's exhausting and depressing to have a sick parent and especially with a disease that we have no control over. Nor does he. The only thing your father will have control over is the right to make his own decisions as to how he is treated.... It's very important that cancer patients make their own decisions.
I realize I don't know you, but if there is anything I can do for you while you are feeling these feelings please let me know... and do take care of yourself because your dad will need your strength even though you will just want to lay down and cry.
With warm wishes, Diane Cayton-Hakey The Blue Ridge Gal
