If you are setting an informal table, there are several ways you might serve them...in a little bowl on top of your luncheon or dinner plate with your entree, in a seperate bowl on a liner plate (served as a seperate course), or in a bowl just above and maybe to the left of your luncheon or dinner plate. I hope that I have not confused you:-)Miss Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08377628628771558672noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702005723584006500.post-52928694295281189462009-02-24T00:41:00.000-06:002009-02-24T00:41:00.000-06:00Your bowls are so nice....I just love Gooseberry P...Your bowls are so nice....I just love Gooseberry Patch too. I have only recently started moving things around. I am telling you posting on RMS was a defining moment for me! Yikes! I hang my plates with plate hangers. They have them at Michaels and lots of antique shops carry them, too. You just buy the size for your plates. they come with a little hanger usually. They work really well...haven't lost a plate yet!! I really like whimsical stuff, so I'm definitely going to go check them out. You're so funny about using your quilt or the stove - that made me laugh! Also, the berry bowl dilemna. Now I won't sleep tonight! ;) Hope you have a great week. {{hugs}}}Ms. Teehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10155900118539180624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702005723584006500.post-46769411526849613692009-02-23T21:36:00.000-06:002009-02-23T21:36:00.000-06:00Hello, Happy Blue Monday! I love your blue bowls and Gooseberry Patch is one of my favorite places to shop. Your chippy table is adorable too! I have one like that, I'm in the process of painting it now, then I'm going to chip it up! LOL. Milo is so cute in your prevoius post on your kitchen table. My Newf has done that too, I'm glad she stopped since she's 165 lbs. now.
When I wash my needlework I take it out of the frame and soak it in a bowl of warm water and Dawn. If it's stained really bad I will use a small amout of Tide disolved in water. Depending on the materials Tide can bleach it out some so be careful. You can sometimes get age rust spots out with a paste made of sea salt and creme of tater. Put that on the spot then put it out in the sun for a few hours. Sometimes it will come out. If the threads are not colorfast they can run so you have to be careful. They sell a special soap for vintage linens but I've not had any luck with it getting out stains.
Bless you, Shirl
Shirls Rose CottageShirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05916361019368200114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702005723584006500.post-39487999706571333772009-02-23T21:09:00.000-06:002009-02-23T21:09:00.000-06:00YOur bowls are so pretty. My grandmother had a similar little demilune table that she used next to the sofa, and it held the phone in her bedroom. She always had a sofa in her bedroom. She liked to visit in there. LOL! She was a chatterer, too. ;-)

As to the berry bowls, this is going to sound like a long answer, but here's what I might do. If room is an issue (which it can be on tables depending where you are set up), you could have a tiny bowl (like a little custard dish) that you could actually put on your buffet plate if you are serving egg dishes, pancakes, or other foods with it.

If it is a more formal meal, then the berries could be served as a separate course. I have cute antique berry bowls that I rarely use unless I'm serving something like a fruit cobbler, and I place the bowl on a plate when I'm using them.

Hope that helps! I'm no expert, but that's what I would do. Those little white custard cups you can find online, and you might even have some. I know you're a wonderful cook. :-)

XO,

SheilaThe Quintessential Magpiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04010105595059019883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6702005723584006500.post-39480448946081332292009-02-23T08:31:00.000-06:002009-02-23T08:31:00.000-06:00You'll have to phone Martha to find out about thos...You'll have to phone Martha to find out about those berry bowls.
