THE DRESS!

We spent the weekend downtown while The Husband had some testing done at a hospital just off beautiful Michigan Avenue and just 3 blocks from the lake.  The Annual Air and Water Show was going on so that was exciting to see.  We ate at some nice restaurants and enjoyed the great weather.  I ran out of camera batteries so I have nothing to share!  But believe me, Chicago in the summer time is just gorgeous!

This has been a slow week but it's a nice reprieve from all the busyness that has been going on.  There is a stillness in the air that seems to signal that summer is coming to an end.  Not that I want it to!  After 2 weekends away from the lake, I am happy to be getting up there again on Friday.

Now I have to run...I have grocery shopping and tons of laundry as usual.   I hope you are all having a great week! :)

So that's THE ONE then Jane? It is gorgeous! She is going to look stunning in it. It's amazing how you just know which dress is the right one. I've noticed a change here, too, although it has still been warm {just not as humid}.

Beautiful dress!! Seeing that photo of the bridal magazine reminded me of how swiftly life changes happen. Amber was editor in chief of first 'HOUSTON BRIDES' - from the inaugural issue - and then later after she returned from Scotland she was editor in chief of DALLAS BRIDES. I would do a little editing for her and read every word of every early issue! This is a beautiful time in yoru daughter's life and I know you are all enjoying every single moment!

How did I miss this post? Your daughter is going to look beautiful in that dress! (she's a living doll already!) Didn't you love the feeling at the moment that she said..."this is the one!" or "yes" as they say in reality TV.
What fun you have ahead of you this year, Jane!
Now I get to journey to The Lake and a very special wedding.
Have a great weekend!

You had better stock up on batteries for that camera girl. You don't want to miss an opportunity and I am sure a lot of them are going to be coming up.
This is going to be such an exciting busy time but your blog can be a documentation of sorts of the whole process. You could have it printed as a keepsake too.

I'm not ready at all for fall. I don't want to decorate, I feel like summer is just starting since we were kept inside so much of the summer with the heat!

What a fabulous dress. I just adore the wonderful full skirts on these dresses. So glad she has such great taste. I have been to a few weddings lately that were so plain and simple and straight and I haven't loved them. This is a stunner.
