HAPPY FALL DAYS

To me, fall is all about colors. Our leaves haven't really changed too much so I was able to get my fix at the local garden center on Saturday. The weather was perfect and the sun was shining.
I've been going to this nursery for 25 years...I get my flowers here in the summer and my Christmas tree in the winter.
They have the cutest little scarecrows, corn stalks and flags. It hard not to go nuts in here.
I love yellow and white mums, but we did those last year and this time Emily was with me and picked her own color palette.
Here is what my porch looks like with all the annual flower pots gone and the mums and pumpkins and gourds out. Everything but the mums were bought in Michigan last weekend and they rolled around in my car for a week and some of the stems cracked off. I was worried that the squirrels would get to them and instead it was me.
Aren't these darling?
Some of my impatiens are still going strong so I left them.

So, my fall decorating is done. It is looking a little crowded in my house. Maybe it is the contrast of the decorated living room and mantel and the emptiness of the kitchen. Just a few more days and the cabinets will be done and I can show you. I actually made stew last night after digging around in my piles for a pot, spoon, knife and cutting board. It's amazing what our kitchens hold. And I am sorry to say that I didn't get a picture of Sexy Irish Plumber when we had the sink installed...another guy came and although he was also a S.I. P., it wasn't the same guy. And, The Husband was home and I think he would have frowned on me taking pictures of the plumbers.

Hopefully I will be back this week with a reveal post, as long as their aren't any snags, and so far there haven't been any. Lucky me. :-)

Hi Jane! Your front stoop looks so cute and cheerful. I worked part time in a nursery like that one last fall and it was so fun to see all the pretty colors every day and have the kids guess what their pumpkins weighed. I am so excited to see your new kitchen!

Good Morning Jane Sweetie...
Oh my how beautiful and inviting your front porch is. It definitely says Welcome. Love the little scarecrows in trio. How cute those are. I need several of those to make all 8 of our grands. I will have to look a little more around here and see what I can find. They are just precious.

Love the colored mums. I was just thinking I needed to go to Lowe's and pick up mine as well. It is that time.

Thank you for sharing Jane. I love it here. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi dear Jane,

It IS all about colors isn't it? Love the photos and wonderful ideas.

You know the slump I am in from closing our little cottage. We were lucky though and were able to eat breakfast on our front porch today. Sunny, warm, perfect and some nice waves out there too.

Sending sunshine and color to you,

Sharon

Oh pooh, Jane! I was looking forward to that picture, too! : ) Listen, as long as your kitchen gets done and done right who cares if its S.I.P. or Butt Crack Larry. We went to a pumpkin patch today with the granddaughter. We made the mistake of pulling her around in a little red wagon they had. She didn't want to get out to make room for the pumpkins, so we got several small ones and just one good size one. I finally broke down last week and bought a pot of mums from the grocery store. I needed a little something to make me feel like I was decorating for Fall. Your nursery looks great and they must be really good if you've been going to them for that long. Good for them for being around that long even!

Darn, No pics of the S.I.P. Oh well, perhaps the cabinet men:) "he he" Love all of the Fall colors! I have some of the scarecrows on my front porch! Enjoy your evening my friend, HUGS!

Wow,that garden center is fabulous! they really go all out, don't they? What a great place to shop.

I like the mums! We usually do yellow and gold mums, as I think they show up better, but this year Howard chose the mums and he got darker reds and rust colors, and they are lovely.

I like the change.
Your steps look great -- love that pinkish-color in a couple of the mums. so pretty!
