FALL{IN} IN LOVE AGAIN

I am loving playing with my fall things. I unloaded another box and found some things I had forgotten, like these Halloween plates I bought years ago when my girls were little. I also received some fun things from my favorite little old UPS guy upon arriving home from Vegas. Oh, I love coming home to gifts from myself to myself. The beehive cloche is from Farmhouse Wares {I LOVE this place. Do go!}. I tied a festive little ribbon on it and put some REAL fruit under it...that's why it looks half full, my little fruit eaters. Never should have bought that caramel dip. And I have beautiful Bosc pears. Have you ever sliced them and poached them in red wine with some cloves? A heavenly dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
I wonder what else I can use the cloche for. Any suggestions?
I made yet another vignette on my chippy table. You see this table when you walk in the front door so I love to play with it. Everyone should have a copy of this book by Susan Branch. If you go to her website HERE, you can get an autographed copy like mine. It's chock full of fall recipes, crafts and her darling watercolors. Grab her Summerbook while you are at it.
Then one afternoon I had a nice shopping trip online to Wisteria. Oh my!! I totally fell in love with these bowls. I am a big bowl lover and have way more than I need but I just love them and these are really a sign of the times. They have a nice texture and glaze to them...very unique.

I also bought some great wicker baskets that I will show you in another post. I once asked that wonderful Australian blogger/stylist, Coty Farquar, how she manages with a small home like mine and she emailed me: baskets, baskets, baskets. Do you use baskets to organize rooms? I think I use them in every room...but I'll post about that another time.

We didn't go to the lake this weekend. The Husband was tired Friday night and we decided to find things to do at home. And I had plenty of cleaning and laundry to do after our trip. It has been a beautiful day in Chicago, in the 80's and the leaves have finally started to change. It is so pretty outside my windows. I hope it is for all of you. I'm joining sweet Marty for Table Top Tuesday and I will see everyone later in the week. Hope your weekend has been wonderful! :-)

Hi Janie! Your table is so warm and welcoming! You could always put a sweet white pumpkin under that cloche for autumn (this coming from the gal who slaps white on everything in sight...). And I'm with you on the basket issue! I have some fav gardening/decor books in wicker baskets inside the living room armoire. There are some full of office supplies and mags in my office. There's a couple in the linen closet full of make-up and some lesser-used items. And the industrial ones I nabbed at the flea market earlier this summer are in the upstairs linen closet full of TP and shampoo!

I'll bet it was nice to sleep in your bed this weekend, wasn't it? And what a breathtaking weekend it was weather-wise!!! Doesn't get any better than this! Hugs to you!

xoxo laurie

Hi Jane...

Oooh...I love all of your new pretties, Jane! Of course, you know how I love cloches and your beehive cloche is fabulous! I think the fruit looks pretty under it...if you can manage to keep a few pieces! Hehe! I just giggled when you wrote about your halloween plates...that you had forgotten all about them. I do alot of "end of the season" sale shopping and I'll pick up pretties...and since it's the end of the season, they just get packed away until the following year. I can' tell you how many times...I started going through a box and I had completely forgotten that I had bought the item...it's like Christmas! Hehe!

Oooh...and I love your "number" big bowls too! I'm going to have to go and check Wisteria out...it's been awhile since I've been there!

Well sweet lady, thanks so much for sharing your pretties with us! And...thank you for stopping by and leaving me such a sweet note on my Sunday Favorites! I always enjoy your visits, my friend! Hi Jane!
I don't have any Susan BRanch books -- will have to look for them!
I can hardly believe the summer is gone, and we only got out to the beach house twice. Criminal.
It's so hard to get away most weekends.

LOVE the white bowls -- I am a big fan of bowls -- especially white ones! Always getting more. And more. And more.

And YES I love baskets for storage and organization. Got that from my Mom, who every fall would make a pilgrimage to Vermont to pick up baskets at a huge place up there -- can't remember the name of it!

By the time she was shopping, there was hardly room in the station wagon for the 4 kids.

Love the cloche, Jane! I am so loving them and it is all Marty's fault! LOL! : ) I am going to have to visit the place you link to. I actually went back to Marty's cloche party last week to see what other people put under theirs. A lot of Fall stuff at the moment, but how about at Christmas - some ornaments, holiday figurines, some fake snow and a snowman. Recently I've seen small pumpkins {I did one of those myself}, pinecones, acorns, skulls, spiders, probably anything an apothecary could hold except your kind of doing it upside down!
