RAMBLINGS

This picture doesn't look like fall, does it?. Maybe I am suffering from fall overload {or maybe I just haven't unpacked my fall things}, but this little bunny 'man servant' makes me smile and he is out year round. I have really been under the weather with asthma for the past 5 days. Usually it affects me when I have a cold, but I don't. To make matters worse, my doctor is on vacation and it doesn't seem his partner knows quite how to treat me {or doesn't want to treat me without seeing me, for which he has no time...see what I am getting to here?}. So I am doing as little as possible so I don't get out of breath; reading, watching t.v., and drinking a lot of strong coffee and tea, which really helps me breathe. I also do medicated breathing treatments every 4 hours and that helps a lot. Woe to me.

Son Kevin and his fiance, Mary Clare are supposed to come to dinner tomorrow {if I feel up to it}. I am thinking of making chicken because Kevin is such a meat & potatoes man and I don't know what Mary Clare likes. It would be neat if she was wide open because I have really gotten away from having company for dinner since my mother in law and my good friend Henry passed away. I used to make huge dinners...nothing simple about what I do, and just had the most fun spending all day with the cookbooks flung open and the kitchen a mess. I really have to get to know this girl better. Dinner was Kevin's idea and I think he is more interested in having a good meal then he is in showing off Mary Clare.

We leave for Vegas next week, our yearly trip with the whole gang of couples. I hope I am not sick. I guess I can lie by a pool as easily as I can in my bed. I have gotten away from playing the slots as much as when we first started going. Those tokens just don't seem like money to me. And I have gone from playing the dollar slots to the quarter slots. Now I just need to go out and do some clothes shopping. In spite if the heat in Vegas, the casinos are cold. I usually live in jeans and nice tops unless we are doing something fancy. And I don't know what fancy thing we are doing this year, last year it was seeing Cher. Again, I hope I'm not sick. Woe to me.

Well, this is about all I have to ramble on about today...I'll just be taking it easy and waiting this asthma out. When I feel better, I'll head out to Kohls and Macy's to check out the clothes. I suppose ruffles are still in style. I look like an idiot in ruffles. Woe to me.

Well, your little bunny is too cute! Put some candy corn in his platter & it will look/feel like fall : )
Congrats on the new DIL to be... I have 3 & could not be happier with the girls my sons chose.
And I am jealous on the Vegas trip. A very fun place to visit. (though this past winter I couldn't win to save my life : )

Jane...praying you're feeling better in no time! Enjoy your dinner with son & his fiance. Sounds like a good opportunity to get to know her better. I am a HUGE production person when it comes to company for supper but have come to realize that the most important part are the people and sometimes some nice soup and a bread is the best. Good food and fellowship is good for the body and soul :)

Take care sweet friend!

I keep a little rabbit out year round too. He's black so I figure I can get away with it.
You're blessed to be able to share dinner with your family. I'd love to be with mine, eating anything!
Have fun on your trip!

I would have no idea what the fashion trends are, because I live in shorts and t-shirt. The better to garden in, my dear. I remember when you went with these couples last year. I believe you mentioned something about wondering what to talk about. And I thought: Precisely why I never attend parties!

Litte bunny is cute! Wow, I wish I could take a trip to Vegas. My problem is that I don't want to leave the casinos, because I love the slots. I could play them all day, that is, if I'm winning! LOL.

Hope you feel better.

Hi Jane. Sorry to hear about the asthma giving you fits. We are having trouble with awful allergies. I can't believe how it effects everything you do! You think about it as soon as you get up because you can't get away from it. So I understand your frustration. Glad to see you post today though...even if it seemed like rambling! Big smile.

So sorry you aren't feeling well. It certainly does make everything seem so much worse then it is. I do hope you can get some treatment soon to help you before your trip. That sounds like something to look forward too. Give the bunny a big orange or pumpkin covered bow and some acorns and he'll look just great!

Hi Jane~so sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.
Fill the bunnie's dish with acorns, or candy corn to give him a fall look.
How lucky you are to go to Vegas!
Hope you are doing better soon.

Jane, I hope you feel better soon. My SIL in Dowagiac wanted you to know about an antique sale Oct. 13, 14, and 15th at a Hall near Dowagiac. It is a tradition in the area and Barb organizes it and has a booth. You can contact her at origbarbie@hotmail.com if you would like more info. She likes your blog but hasn't figured out how to contact you.

Jane, I am really concerned that your doctor's partner is not paying proper attention to you. I am a RN and I fully realize how serious asthma is. I would certainly have a word with your doc about it later. Kathy is right the LV air might help. Rest up! hugs♥olive

I so hope that you feel better soon!

That's the first thing.

The second thing is maybe you might like MC. I cannot tell you the parade of floozies my son has brought home! He is now a movie producer in Hollywood, and I still have no DIL or Grandchildren, and I don't think it is likely that I ever will.

Sooooo, take it easy, feel better and enjoy Vegas!

Sorry about the asthma. I get that from time to time and suffered with it quite a bit during childhood-allergies too. I know what a damper it can put on things! Vegas sounds like so much fun and luckily they blow in a constant stream of fresh air into the casinos. Have fun!!!

I'm not a ruffle girl either and they are on everything! I do think the cardigans look cute, but I haven't tried one on yet.

Hopefully the Vegas weather will help with the asthma. I get it after a cold too and I find that good old fashioned Vicks on my chest (like when I was 5) helps some.

We just started going to Casinos a few years ago when we started our MI trips. We do penny slots and never spend more than $20. We are such big spenders!

He always get it in Fall. So i hope it will be gone for Vegas. I don't gamble too. I rather shop too. They have amazing stores there!
Thank you so much for your visits. You know, you are the best and always make me smile.

I hope you are feeling better. They say this summer has been the worse for allergies and asthma. I know my allergies have been bad. we have a son who has chemical asthma, so I can relate to how your are feeling. I know I went to Sun Valley with pneumonia. My daughter and daughter-in-law finished packing my bags and I am so glad that I went. Just enjoy the desert air, which might be a big help. Have a great trip and enjoy the family get together with your new daughter-in-law to be. Your Missouri Friend.

I posted a comment earlier but it was lost in cyberspace! Hang in there, and I hope you are feeling better very soon!

And I know just what you mean about losing loved ones and things just never being the same again! Try turning on a few of their favorite tunes, put on something you love to wear and break out those pots, pans, and bags of flour to whip up a few cherished memories! You'll slowly find that even without those special people right beside you, they are still very much a part of who you are and they'll be celebrating and cooking right along with you!

I hope you are fit as a fiddle by the time your Vegas trip rolls around!

Hi Jane, I hope you start feeling better soon! Don't wait for your Doctor to come back if you still don't feel well tomorrow. Sometimes we really have to push for the best care that we deserve so don't be afraid to do that with the Doctor that is covering for your Doctor. Don't you love me lecturing you? In all seriousness I hope you are feeling great before your trip. I don't like the Casino any more. When I was younger it seemed more fun and exciting to me, not so much now. I hope you have a great time and when you come back you can decorate then. Miss you so much!

So sorry about the asthma! Just as sorry, that you are Your-Own-Doctor-Less! -le sigh-

Don't you have Rx's, for what he usually gives you? Perhaps when he comes back, you should "talk turkey" to him, about not leaving you in the lurch again.

He can leave. Just leave you with the ability to help yourself, while he's gone.

I'm really sorry that you are under the weather from your asthma Jane.
